Chocolate Toffee Bark

Chocolate Toffee Bark is a perfect combination of sweet and salty, crunchy and smooth. It's hard to have just one piece!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces chocolate

Instructions

  • Line a 9" x 13" dish with aluminum foil.
  • Heat water and butter in a medium pot until butter is melted.
  • Add sugar and salt being careful not to touch the sides of the pot.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook until thermometer reads 300º, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and continue cooking until thermometer reads 325º.
  • Pour into prepared dish and spread evenly.
  • Chill until hardened, about 15 minutes.
  • Remove toffee from pan and remove foil from toffee.
  • Melt 4 ounces of chocolate and spread on top of toffee.
  • Chill until chocolate is hardened, about 15 minutes.
  • Melt 4 ounces of chocolate and spread on the other side of the toffee.
  • Chill until chocolate is hardened, about 15 minutes.
  • Break or cut into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

*if you want to add nuts to your toffee, sprinkle them into your pan before you pour your toffee in.
