Ingredients

water

sugar

Instructions
Line a 9" x 13" dish with aluminum foil.
Heat water and butter in a medium pot until butter is melted.
Add sugar and salt being careful not to touch the sides of the pot.
Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook until thermometer reads 300º, approximately 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and continue cooking until thermometer reads 325º.
Pour into prepared dish and spread evenly.
Chill until hardened, about 15 minutes.
Remove toffee from pan and remove foil from toffee.
Melt 4 ounces of chocolate and spread on top of toffee.
Chill until chocolate is hardened, about 15 minutes.
Melt 4 ounces of chocolate and spread on the other side of the toffee.
Chill until chocolate is hardened, about 15 minutes.
Break or cut into pieces and enjoy!
Notes
*if you want to add nuts to your toffee, sprinkle them into your pan before you pour your toffee in.
