DIY Cinnamon Christmas Ornaments

Not only are these perfect for decorating the tree, you could use smaller cookie cutters and make adorable gift "tags" with them! Or string them together and make a festive, wonderful smelling diy Christmas garland.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Applesauce
  • Straw or skewer to make holes for hanging
  • Twine or ribbon for hanging

Instructions

  • Mix together cinnamon and applesauce. You may need a little more applesauce if you find them too dry or a little more cinnamon if they're too loose. You want a good "cookie" texture to roll out.
  • Optional: cover "dough" and let it rest for a little while to make rolling out easier.
  • Roll out to desired thickness. I shoot for a good sugar cookie thickness.*
  • Cut out with Christmas shaped cookie cutters.
  • Gather up scraps, re-roll out and continue cutting until all of the "dough" is used.
  • Bake at 200° for 2 hours or until dry and hard.
  • Let cool. If desired, decorate with puff paint or 3d fabric paint.
  • Allow to dry completely and string with twine or ribbon.

Notes

You can roll your "dough" between layers of wax paper or dust the surface lightly with extra cinnamon to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin.
