{Healthier} Sausage Balls

Sausage Ball Ingredients:
- 3 cups sprouted flour biscuit mix
- 1 lb Jimmy Dean pork breakfast sausage
- 1/2 lb grated cheddar cheese {3 cups}
Sprouted Flour Biscuit Mix Ingredients:
- 3 cups sprouted flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1 stick butter, {1/2 cup}
Sausage Ball Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375° Cook breakfast sausage. Drain only if there's excessive grease. A small amount of grease helps them hold together better when you're shaping them into balls. Combine sausage, cheese, and biscuit mix and mix together well using your hands. Form into 1- 1 1/2" balls and bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown.
For homemade biscuit mix:
Mix together dry ingredients in a large bowl.Using a pastry cutter, cut in butter until it is as incorporated as possible with the goal of resembling coarse cornmeal.*Note: This is half of the complete biscuit mix recipe since it was the perfect amount for the sausage balls recipe. I made the sprouted flour biscuit mix with these measurements and used the whole amount for the sausage balls.
