The kind of things you can find at a barn sale are great for creating a collected home while having a super authentic farmhouse feel as these are items they actually used in an old farmhouse!

This was definitely the year of the baskets for me! I’ve been wanting a large antique white oak basket for a few years now ever since my mom dug one out of the top of their barn and put it in her house with some antique quilts in it.
I was able to find a really nice one plus a lot of other little baskets that I didn’t necessarily need but loved too much to leave there! Fortunately, my mom has an antique booth at a local antique store so I have a good way to get rid of things if I find I don’t have room for them or want to switch out some old finds for some new ones.
This blue bowl was something I saw on the first day but it was more expensive than I wanted to spend. I loved it but just couldn’t quit get myself to “pull the trigger” so to speak. I went back the second day of the barn sale and saw the white basket a few pictures up from the same seller and he gave me a really good deal on both of them together so I was super excited to come home with it!
After the kitchen renovation is complete, I imagine it will have a place of honor on my new island!
I hope you enjoyed this look at the farmhouse antiques that we found at the barn sale! The real farmhouse antiques are my absolute favorite things to decorate my home with. I especially love when I find a great antique that I can decorate with and use so that I don’t just end up with more “stuff”.
